We are now well into the "hungry gap", that period between late winter and early summer when there is a shortage of fresh produce available. It's a difficult time of the year for all of us who rely on locally-sourced food.

As a result, we struggle to produce enough crops to meet the demand, and this leads to a shortage of fresh vegetables. Our suppliers have the same struggle and this is causing big price spikes and means less produce in the box. We never look forward to this time of year and things feel particularly tough this year.

Hungry Gap: the wait for summer
produce continues...

We remain grateful to you, our customers, who continue to support us during our lean period. Supporting your local farmer makes a real difference to our business and our staff and ensures we can continue to serve you in the long run.
